Learn more about WVA
Our Artists
WVA artist members come in all sorts and stages of their artistic careers, from new graduate to retired creative to world acknowledged expert in their chosen discipline. We have teachers, students, retired engineers, and lifelong artists. Media is unlimited! All of the artist members have one thing in common: the drive to create. And WVA has one purpose: to support them in all their endeavors.
WVA hosts many exhibitions each year. Some are statewide and regional exhibits are hosted by WVA Chapters. Each has it’s own personality: some are juried, some are open, and some require WVA membership. Our “flagship” exhibitions occur every other year: in even years the Biennial is open to all Wisconsin artists, and in odd years Perspectives is open only to WVA Members.
WVA is a volunteer organization, although we are fortunate to employ an Executive Director to manage operations, outreach and statewide programming. We are a statewide organization with three regional chapters, a structure that allows artists to connect locally while providing the breadth of the state of Wisconsin to broaden those connections.
